For the love of food

When I first moved out on my own at the tender age of 35, I ate mostly fast food and frozen cuisine. On special occasions, I would treat myself to the super elegant restaurants like Waffle House or Denny's. Although it was more exciting to eat at Waffle House or Denny's than fast food, it was an awful existence for a foodie like me. I really enjoy good food, so  I started cooking using recipes that I had learned from my father and mother. It was a rather limited portfolio and, after eating nothing but chili and tuna casserole for a month, I went out and purchased my first cookbook. It didn’t take me long to figure out that if you can follow the directions, you can cook just about anything. I even started becoming more creative by altering the recipes that I enjoyed the most to suit my taste. After gaining more confidence, I began to create my own recipes. And now, I’m providing these recipes for your use! You can make incredible meals for much cheaper than eating out. The ladies definitely dig it when you can cook for them, which is an added bonus!

Original Restaurant Recipes

We are currently partnering with a couple of local restaurants and bars so you can enjoy some of their delicious drink and food recipes at home. The Monkey’s Tale is a New Orleans-style music venue conveniently located on the north side of Indianapolis in Broad Ripple Village. If there isn’t a band playing that night, then expect a DJ or Karaoke to keep you in the mood. As for a couple of their signature drinks, I will have share a few in short order. The Jazz Cooker, now closed, used to serve New Orleans cuisine in a quaint historic home built in the late 1800s and was also located in Broad Ripple Village. One recipe is here, but expect more in the near future. Thanks to Lynn for everything!
