I saw them make this on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and wanted to give it a shot. Named after a character in Pinocchio this rustic pasta dish is supremely flavorful and quick and easy to make. Fresh tomatoes, garlic, basil, and parsley bring the sauce to life. As unappetizing as the anchovy paste sounds it is a necessary ingredient that bumps up the umami flavor to eleven. In the episode there was one ingredient I had to leave out of my version because it has never been appealing to me and that was the capers. Also, if you can make or get fresh spaghetti it will elevate this pasta dish to make any Italian envious.
