Spicy Bloody Bakon
February 2, 2016
Breakfast Casserole
February 16, 2016This is a remake of McCormick's "It's a Dilly!" spice mix that was discontinued a few years ago. There is a new "It's a Dilly!" but it' not quite the same. This one is much closer to the original no salt spice that is good in a dip, or on fish or chicken, sprinkled on salad or vegetables and anything else you want a spicy dilly flavor. Some of these ingredients like the jalapeno powder and lemon peels can be difficult to find locally but are all over the web. If you can't find it in the baking isle of your supermarket citric acid can also be found is health food stores.
2 Tablespoons dill seed
1 Tablespoon dried lemon peel
½ teaspoon citric acid (optional)
½ teaspoon jalapeno powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
4 Tablespoons dill weed
1
Use a mortar and pestle or an electric spice grinder to grind the dill seeds and dried lemon peels into a fine powder.
2
Mix all ingredients together.
