When we were in Hohenfels Germany we had very few distractions between training exercises. We were often away from any sort of civilization for days on end eating nothing but MRE’s. When we would finally get back my friends and I would rush over to the on-post Kantine that was run by a grouchy German local and partake in the local cuisine. Out of the many things on the menu the Currywurst he made was my favorite. A spicy tomato curry sauce coats your favorite German Sausage.
