BBQ Spare Ribs
June 8, 2014Berry Yogurt Shooters
June 11, 2014When we were in Hohenfels Germany we had very few distractions between training exercises. We were often away from any sort of civilization for days on end eating nothing but MRE’s. When we would finally get back my friends and I would rush over to the on-post Kantine that was run by a grouchy German local and partake in the local cuisine. Out of the many things on the menu the Currywurst he made was my favorite. A spicy tomato curry sauce coats your favorite German Sausage.
Preheat oven to Broil or Grill to high.
Pour tomato sauce into a large saucepan, then stir in the curry powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Let simmer over medium heat, occasionally stirring; bring to a gentle boil and reduce heat to low. Simmer another 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, broil/grill kielbasa sausage for 3 to 4 minutes each side, or until cooked through. Slice into pieces 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick.
Pour tomato sauce mixture over sausage, then sprinkle all with paprika and curry powder and serve.
